The thing with time in the gym is it's always a learning process. I found myself wondering about my intensity level and the flexibility of programming. Am I too dependent upon my numbers when I should be going more by feel? What is my cutoff point? If 80% feels like 60%, I'll probably go up. But what about the days when 80% feels like 95%? Do I go down, or do I suck it up and go for my prescribed weights? I am sandbagging when I follow my prescribed weights and they feel light?
I don't know that I came to a conclusion other than to commit to myself to always train like I'm training for something. Being committed to my training is being committed to myself, and I deserve to give it everything.
It doesn't matter what you did last week, or the week before that, or any other time in the past. What matters is what you do today. It's the effort you put in, your commitment to your goals in this moment, and it's choosing to be the person you want to be. Don't wait for awesomeness to come to you. Go get it, with everything you have.
